What is a computer?
The term computer can be described as the electronic which is made of some electronic component and is well equipped to perform some mathematical and logical operation at high pace.
The word computer is derived from latin word "computare" which means to calculate.
The modern computer has a huge storage capacity to store,hold ,execute and process the data or information whenever user demand or request.
A computer has a processor which is commonly known as CPU which stands for central processing unit is the main an integral part of computer system which is almost responsible for all mathematical and logical operation.
The computer is also has the capabilities to perform multitask at reasonable high speed.
The computers are basically categorized into four different types.They are as follows
Super Computer
These Computer are high speed computer compared to other types of computer.Super computer are used in intelligence ,military ,predication of earthquakes and volcano eruption as well as in research and space exploration.
India's first super computer was design and developed in pune at CDAC computer institute.
Mini Computer
Mini computer are also called as "Midrange Computers" and are very small in size and are cheaper .These computer can be used as a host where multiple other computer are connected to them in a computer network
Micro Computers
Micro computers are called as personal computer . They are the smallest and the cheapest computer in the Information technology world.
They are used in home as well as professional work.They are so small that they can be fit on the lap of user.
Laptop is a prime example of personal computer.
These types of computer are mobile where user can shift it from one location to other.
Laptops are another form of personal computer [PC] which are quite cheaper then any other computer with huge speed and relatively higher storage devices.
These types of computer are quite famous these days and above all that they are mobile and can be transferred from one location to other easily.
Laptops can work with AC power supply as well as DC power supply because of the battery attached to them.
